Just like you, we’re no strangers to bad news and hard times. Last month, a tragedy just blocks from our home made national headlines. We saw our community hurting and felt that same heavy question rise in our hearts: What’s going to happen now?

In a world of uncertainty, there is one thing we can always be sure of: goodness is still here, waiting to be found, if we look for it each day. Every age of existence has brought challenges to overcome, and yet with each generation, dreams once thought impossible have become part of our everyday lives.

The question becomes: how do we best savor the goodness and joy that are already available to us? How do we root ourselves in grounded optimism, the kind that acknowledges hardship but also insists on hope?

We can begin by remembering how much more alike we are than different. We are bound together on a small, miraculous planet that is more interconnected than we often realize. And every single day, in countless places and ways, goodness and miracles unfold.

Our invitation is simple: to see them, to remember them, and to be them.
